Junie Lau is a multidisciplinary creative based in London, UK, and Shanghai, China. As both a film director and production designer, she specializes in crafting avant-garde visual narratives for global brands and prominent celebrities. Her work spans a wide range of formats, including fashion films, music videos, and advertising productions. With a strong passion for innovation, Junie integrates cutting-edge technology into her creative process, using AI to explore new frontiers in artistic expression. Her focus on virtual identity, digital humanities, and digital ontology reflects her deep engagement with contemporary themes in the digital era. Her artistic achievements have earned her recognition on prestigious platforms. Junie’s artworks have been exhibited at the Royal Academy of Arts in the UK and featured in British Vogue. One of her standout projects, the music video The Court, won the global championship in the official Stable Diffusion #DiffuseTogether AI short film competition, receiving acclaim from six-time Grammy Award winner Peter Gabriel. She has also directed Difficult to Determine Between Good and Evil, the theme song from the Hong Kong film I Did It My Way, a collaboration between pop icons Andy Lau and George Lam. This project garnered significant praise in Asian media for its innovative AI-driven visual artistry. In addition to her achievements in music videos, Junie directed e^(i"") + 1 = 0, an AI short film for the Sohu 25th Fashion Awards ceremony. This film won several prestigious awards, including the Silver Award at the 2nd Annual International AI Film Festival by Runway, the Best Use of AI Award at the Artefact AI Film Festival by MK2 in France, and Best Hybrid Film at the AI Film Festival in Amsterdam. It was also invited to screen at the Tribeca Film Festival in 2024. Junie co-directed Our T2 Remake, the world’s first 90-minute independent AI feature film, which premiered in Hollywood in March 2024. Collaborating with 50 top AI filmmakers globally, this groundbreaking project marked a significant milestone in AI cinema. Beyond her artistic pursuits, Junie serves as the official AI artist for leading AI technology companies such as OpenAI, Runway, ByteDance, and Stability AI. She shares her expertise through lectures and presentations at major AI conferences. Her role as the keynote speaker at the 2024 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC), China’s largest AI event, underscores her influence as a thought leader in both the AI and creative industries.
